Call of the Wild has never been shy about its mission: supporting grassroots rock and giving rising artists a real shot at standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with the legends. In 2027, that mission roars louder than ever.

Trailblazer, our annual search for the fiercest new talent,  is officially back, and applications are now open. If you’re ready to step out of the rehearsal room and onto one of the UK’s most electrifying festival stages, this is your moment.

The Road to Trailblazer 2027

The journey begins now, and it’s designed to test your mettle, your music, and your connection with the wolfpack.

Applications Open — Until 23rd August Bands from across the UK and beyond can throw their hat into the ring. Whether you’re a fresh outfit or a seasoned underground favourite, Trailblazer is your chance to break through.

60 Bands Shortlisted From all entries, sixty acts will be chosen and split into six online heats. This is where the competition kicks into gear — and where the public gets involved.

Weekly Public Voting — From 30th August Each week, fans will vote for their favourites. Two winners from every heat will advance, and two additional wild cards will be chosen to complete the final lineup.

 The Live Showcase Final — 19th & 20th March 2027, Corporation Sheffield Fourteen bands. One legendary venue. Two nights of pure, unfiltered rock. The wolfpack will decide who rises, who roars, and who earns their place on the Call of the Wild stages.

What’s at Stake?

  • Overall Winner — Opens the Kilmister Stage at Call of the Wild 2027 + additional opportunities
  • Runner‑Up — Opens the Southall Lawless Stage + more
  • Finalists — Six bands will earn coveted slots on the Trailblazer Stage
