Survivalist
Survivalist are a four piece Metal act from Belfast, Ireland. They are, (Vocalist) Gavin Sharp, (Guitars) Nick Butcher, (Bass) Lee Shaw & (Drums) Rhys Fraser.
Drawing inspiration from their own tumultuous history, personal struggles and the current state of the world, Survivalist crafted a unique sound blending melodic elements with huge riffs and climactic breakdowns which they call “Groovecore”.
Their debut album,"VII" released in 2021, garnered attention for its raw intensity, introspective lyrics and a culmination of sounds that were not only familiar and reminiscent but current and diverse. It has since passed 100,000 streams and been referred to by critics as a masterpiece. (Rock ‘N’ Load Magazine 10/10, Powerplay 8/10, Evermetal 9/10).
In 2023, Survivalist caught the attention of a wider audience with their single 'Greater Negative', which explored themes of resilience, mental health and the healing process of past trauma. The single's success has led to regional, international and worldwide radio play, Including BBC Radio. Greater negative shared a message that resonated and further connected them with their fanbase.
Since their Last release they have gone from strength to strength sharing the stage with acts such as Chelsea Grin, Polaris, Suffocation, Atreyu, Kublai Khan, Distant and more! With their upcoming tour with Thy Art is Murder in their sights they are set to release the first single 'Deathbed' featuring Alex Koehler (Ex Chelsea Grin / Ameonna) off their upcoming album 'A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone...'.
